Iggy Azalea Tapped for ‘House of Style’
Australian rapper Iggy Azalea will be
stepping behind the mic for an eight-episode online run of MTV’s fashion
series “House of Style.” The 24-year-old performer behind the summer
hit “Fancy” is taking the reins from models Karlie Kloss and Joan
Smalls, who hosted the 2012 reboot, beginning August 4. Azalea’s run
will also be a web-only series and will lead up to the network’s Video
Music Awards on August 24.
“House of Style” originated in 1989 with a rotating
cast of supermodel hosts like Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn, and Molly
Sims, before MTV cancelled the series in 2000. It was briefly
reinstated with models Bar Refaeli and Chanel Iman for a singular episode run in 2009 and made its online exclusive revival with Kloss and Smalls for a multi-episode season on MTV’s Style vertical in 2012.
